H.P. Lovecraft Tarot Deck

The H.P. Lovecraft Tarot deck provides an entry into the worlds Lovecraft created and populated with events and beings that reach into the very souls of the reader. The Elder Gods find form within the cards of this deck. They beckon to the viewer, cajoling, enticing and covering all in an unclean darkness that feeds on those who look deeply upon that which is within the trackless void. Daryl Hutchinson has touched the mythos and added dimensions to its dark luster. 
 
The deck consists of 80 unique illustrated cards depicting entities and creatures from Lovecraft stories and the Cthulhu Mythos, corresponding to the Major and Minor Arcana of the traditional tarot; the Minor Arcana of The H.P. Lovecraft Tarot consisting of the Suits of Man, Artifacts, Tomes, & Sites; the Major Arcana consisting of entities and creatures of H.P. Lovecraft and the Cthulhu Mythos. 
 
The cards are sepia-toned in the manner of old daguerreotypes, giving an eldritch feel to them. The card dimensions are large, approximately 4 x 6 inches and are packaged in a sturdy box. The deck in itself is as intriguing and insightful as any deck currently on the market. That said, a working knowledge of Lovecraft and the Mythos will definitely help with your understanding. 
 
Tim Thompson's book “The Necronomicon Cycle, A Literary Commentary on the H.P. Lovecraft Tarot” available here, would make for an excellent companion to the Lovecraft deck. This encyclopedic work discusses the whole of the Lovecraftian system and allows the reader to interpret major decks of the occult and the standard, common pack of playing cards within a Lovecraftian context.
